Join
us for three days of exciting workshops, plus a gala show,
lecture, evening showcase and hafla, and the option for private lessons
with four legendary American Bellydancers from the Golden Days of
Bellydance in the 70s and 80s. These dancers represent four different
ethnic dance traditions:
- Aegela,
who was called the Sweetheart of Egypt during her working there;
- Artemis
Mourat, the leading authority on Turkish bellydance;
- Helena Vlahos, who
enjoys celebrity status in the Greek clubs across the country;
- Kweilin
Nassar, the favorite dancer in the Lebanese clubs in Pittsburgh, who is
also a close relative of Ibrahim (Bobby) Farrah.

Performances - Gala Show and Saturday Showcase
The
Gala Show at the Station Square Buckhead Saloon will feature Aegala,
Artemis Mourat, Helena Vlahos and Kweilin Nassar. In addition, the
line-up includes award-winning dancers and the best local talent: Maria
Parasson (OH), Janim & Jemeena (PA), Hot Metal Muses (PA),
Belladonna (DC), Christine Andrews (PA), Amartia (MD), Laila (PA),
Mehira (PA), Lalita (MD), Tessa Meyers (NY) & Maria Hamer (PA),
Karianne & Berna (PA), and Steffi (PA).
The Saturday Showcase and Halfa will take place at Absolute Ballroom.

There
will be the opportunity for private lessons with all four instructors. If you are committed to working on
a specific topic with one of the instructors, email

scheduling.

We will be
joined by a number of vendors, including Father Dunn's Jewelry, Magical
Fashions, Nicole’s Bellydance, Calico Garden, and
Maximum Glitter Henna. In addition, the instructors will offer DVDs, CDs, and other
instructional materials for sale.
